The City Leaders Program is designed for leaders across the world — including those whose cities, contexts, or career stages would otherwise put the standard tuition out of reach. Two scholarship pathways exist to make participation possible.
Both are reviewed individually. Both ask for honesty. Both exist because we mean what we wrote in our Community Values about access being something you build.
Tuition Adjustment Equity-Based Scholarship
30% / 40% / 50%
Off the £6,000 tuition · limited places per cohort
For leaders facing currency or economic-disparity barriers — particularly in the Global South. Discount level is assessed individually based on context, need, and leadership intent.
Criteria: economic context · genuine commitment to civic leadership · honesty in self-assessment

Reduced tuition
Specifically for emerging civic leaders, ages 21–30
For young people stepping into civic leadership early — before formal title, often without institutional budget. The program meets them where they are, so the next decade of city leadership is shaped by people who started young.
Criteria: age 21–30 · active in civic / community / city work · willing to invest in long-term leadership development
Read full details → Honour clause. Both pathways operate on trust. If you can afford the full tuition, please do not apply for an adjustment — each unnecessary application removes access from someone with genuine need. We trust our applicants to honour this.
How to apply
Each scholarship has its own short application linked from its detail page. Allocations are reviewed individually by the GMA admissions team, not algorithmically — context matters.
If you're not sure which pathway fits, write to contact@globalmayors.academy with the subject line "Scholarship enquiry" — we'll point you to the right route.
