Legal
These Terms and Conditions (the "Terms") govern your use of the website globalmayors.academy (the "Website") and your participation in the City Leaders Program and any related programs, events, or services (collectively, the "Program") offered by Global Mayors Academy ("GMA", "we", "us", "our").
GMA is a program operated by Global Mayors Academy Limited. By using the Website or registering for the Program, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Website or register for the Program.
Plain English summary: These Terms set out the basic rules for using our website and joining our programs — who we are, what you are buying, how to pay, when and how you can get a refund, and who owns what. They are written in plain English so you know what you are agreeing to.
Global Mayors Academy is a leadership development initiative supporting mayors and city officials of small and mid-sized cities (typically with populations between 1,000 and 500,000). Our flagship program is the City Leaders Program (CLP), a hybrid leadership development program.

When you register for the City Leaders Program, you receive access to the program curriculum, live and recorded sessions, faculty interactions, peer cohort activities, and any digital materials specified at the point of purchase. The exact components of the Program, including format, duration, and accreditations, are described on the Website at the time of purchase.
We deliver the Program in good faith and to a high professional standard. We may, from time to time, make reasonable changes to schedule, faculty, format, or platform — for example to improve quality, to reflect availability, or in response to circumstances beyond our control. We will give you reasonable notice of material changes.
The Program is designed for mayors, city officials, civic leaders, and individuals working on city-scale challenges. We may, at our discretion, decline an application or registration where it is not a fit for the Program. In such cases, any fee paid will be refunded in full.
Participation in the Program is conditional on respectful, lawful, and constructive engagement with faculty, staff, and fellow participants. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate participation, without refund, in cases of serious misconduct, harassment, or breach of these Terms.
The fee for the Program is the price listed on the Website at the time of purchase. All fees are quoted in pounds sterling (GBP) unless otherwise stated. Where applicable, taxes will be added at the prevailing rate.
Program fees support the operation of the Program and the broader scholarship and access mission of GMA, including subsidised places for participants from underserved cities and regions.
Payment is processed through our designated payment provider(s). Your registration is confirmed once payment has been received in full, or once an instalment plan, where offered, has been agreed in writing.
If a payment fails or is reversed, we may suspend access to the Program until payment is resolved.
We may from time to time offer discounted, subsidised, or complimentary places (including for public officials and partner-nominated participants). Such offers are governed by their own terms communicated at the point of offer. Discounts cannot be combined unless we expressly say so.
Your 14-day right to cancel: If you are a consumer in the United Kingdom or European Union, you have a statutory right to cancel your registration within 14 days of purchase, without giving a reason, and receive a full refund — provided the Program has not yet started and you have not requested early access.
To exercise your right to cancel, please send a clear written request to contact@globalmayors.academy stating your name, the Program you registered for, and the date of purchase. We will confirm receipt and process eligible refunds within 14 days, using the original payment method.
After the 14-day cancellation period, or once the Program has commenced (whichever is earlier), the Program fee is non-refundable. We may, at our discretion, consider partial refunds or deferrals to a future cohort in cases of serious illness, bereavement, or other exceptional circumstances, supported by reasonable evidence.
If we cancel the Program before it begins, we will refund all fees paid in full. If we materially change the Program after you have registered (for example, postponement by more than 30 days), we will offer you the choice between a place in the rescheduled Program, transfer to a future cohort, or a full refund.

Before pursuing legal action, we encourage you to contact us at contact@globalmayors.academy so we can attempt to resolve the matter informally.
Participation in our affiliate, ambassador, or partner programs is governed by the Ambassador Terms and Conditions, a separate written agreement between you and GMA. That agreement sets out commission structures, payment terms, and conduct expectations, and prevails over these Terms in respect of affiliate or partner activity.
