City Leaders Program  ·  Founding Cohort  ·  25 July 2026

The cities where people love to live will be shaped by leaders who
develop themselves today.

The world's first leadership program designed to empower city leaders in small to mid-sized cities to succeed and thrive in complexity — unlocking the potential of places often overlooked in global development and mainstream programs.

Three Pillars of Transformation

Pillar 1

Expand Your
Leadership Capacity

The pressure doesn't stop. The decisions don't wait. This pillar builds the multi-dimensional capacities required to respond, adapt, and lead effectively as circumstances evolve.

Pillar 2

Implement
While You Learn

Practice, not only theory. Progress, not only promises. You apply what you learn immediately through implementing city development projects - creating real results during the program.

Pillar 3

Local Action.
Global Connection.

You act local. Your support is global. Connect with 100+ city leaders across 50+ countries - sharing real experience and collective wisdom that continues beyond the program.

from 700+ cities

We understand

"Leading a city is one of the most demanding forms of leadership that exists — yet one of the least supported."

Ferial Puren

CEO of the Global Mayors Academy

You face pressure from multiple directions simultaneously – citizens, councils, budgets, nested crises – often without support, without peers who truly understand, without time to step back and reflect.

Most programs teach you to manage complexity. They don't give you the capacity to lead from within it – with clarity, integrity, and the confidence to make positive impact that outlasts your term.

Founding Cohort · 2026

The leaders who join now are not simply enrolling in a program — they are co-founding a global movement.

Their names will be part of this initiative’s history. Their experience will shape every future iteration of this program.

The founding-cohort rate isn’t a discount. It’s recognition of the role you take on by entering first.

4

A voice in the methodology itself

Founding participants don’t just complete the program — they help shape it. Your city case, your feedback, your lived practice become part of the living methodology that future cohorts will inherit.

Step into a Global Network and Continue the Work.

An Immersive Experience & Graduation — Completing the Journey, Celebrating Progress, Continuing the Work.

At the end of the structured learning of the program, every cohort gathers online or in person — to reflect, celebrate, and cross the threshold together. One shared commitment to what cities can become. For those who can meet in-person, two destinations await.

The in-person immersion is an optional add-on — not included in the £6,000 program fee. The online graduation is included for every participant.

Cross the threshold from structured learning into ongoing leadership and impact.

In this immersion, you will

  • Celebrate your progress alongside a global cohort of city leaders
  • Deepen cross-cultural relationships and international networks
  • Experience real-world innovation in different city contexts
  • Strengthen your sense of global connection and shared purpose

In practice, you will

  • Share your work, insights, and progress with peers and faculty
  • Explore real-world examples of thriving city initiatives
  • Identify pathways for continued collaboration and support
Outcome

A strong global network, renewed clarity, and ongoing support to continue your city transformation journey well beyond the formal program itself.
