Get Involved

The program does not exist
without the people who choose to back it.

Four pathways to join the work — funding, partnership, affiliation, or practice. Each one moves the City Leaders Program closer to the cities that need it most.

The Global Mayors Academy is funded entirely outside the public sector. The £6,000 City Leaders Program tuition covers operating cost — not the scholarship pool, not the in-person immersions, not the Faculty time donated, not the work to keep the program reaching cities in the Global South.

That work depends on people who choose to back it. Below are the four most direct ways to do that.

Funder

Become a Funder

Direct philanthropic support for the program, the scholarship pool, or specific cohorts. We work with foundations, family offices, and individuals who want their funding to translate into measurable city outcomes.

Strategic Partner

Become a Strategic Partner

A formal organisational partnership — connecting GMA with city networks, faculty institutions, civic platforms, or movement allies. Strategic partners shape direction, share infrastructure, and co-host events.

Universities · NGOs · city networks · civic platforms

Ambassador

Become an Ambassador

Help bring the City Leaders Program to leaders in your network — and earn meaningful commission for every participant who joins through your invitation. The lightest, most direct way to support the work.

Practitioners · trainers · advisors with networks of city leaders

We're not asking you to support a program. We're asking you to invest in the people who shape the cities you live in.

Not sure which pathway fits?

If your situation does not map neatly onto one of the four cards — say, an unusual partnership, a sponsorship of a specific cohort or scholarship pool, or a practitioner conversation about a longer engagement — write directly to the GMA team.

Email contact@globalmayors.academy with the subject line "Get Involved enquiry" and a few lines about who you are and what you'd like to explore. A real human reads each one.

Where the money goes

For funders specifically: GMA operates with a clear separation between program operations (covered by tuition) and capacity-building investments (covered by philanthropic capital). The latter pays for the equity-based scholarship pool, the cohort accessibility, the immersion subsidies for participants who otherwise could not travel, and the development of new program tracks (Brave / Impact / Thrive).

A funder briefing is available on request — including current cohort numbers, scholarship demand, and the scope of upcoming program expansion.

The work is shared. We are glad you are looking. Write to us.
