The first day · Friday 28 August
The day you meet each other —
out on the water.

The program opens on Saturday, but the circle gathers a day earlier. On Friday we spend the whole day at sea, and in the evening we sit around one table on the marina. By Saturday's opening circle you are not in a room of strangers — and that changes how quickly the conversation becomes real.

Mediterranean cruise and dinner above the bay

Friday 28 August · the cruise is included for participants
08:00
Pick-up at the hotels. Cars collect participants from their own hotels — we leave early, while it is still cool
08:30
Out to sea. A relaxed cruise along the Marmaris coastline, through some of the region's most beautiful bays and islands
midday
Bays, swimming, snorkelling. Several stops in the loveliest spots on the coast — water, mask, sun, or simply quiet time on board
lunch
BBQ on board. Chicken, pasta and salad, with unlimited soft drinks through the day
late afternoon
Back to town. About six hours on the water; onboard showers and toilet facilities, a professional crew and full insurance
19:00
Dinner. One shared table on the terrace of Hilside Bar & Restaurant — a bay full of masts below you, Turkish cooking, and the conversations worth arriving a day early for. The table is booked by the organisers: dinner is included for participants on the full fee, everyone else and family members pay on the day — £30

Hilside on the marina: the shared table that evening

The boat trip and the dinner are included for participants who pay the full program fee.

Where a place is taken on individual terms, a grant or a scholarship — and for family members — both are paid on the day: £20 for the boat trip and £30 for dinner, per person. The £20 already covers lunch on board and unlimited soft drinks through the day: water, tea, iced tea and coffee. Family members must be registered at least one week before the event.

Wine and beer on board are £10 extra per person, for everyone, however you join.

The trip is run by an independent tour operator: the Global Mayors Academy makes it available to participants but is not its organiser, and taking part is voluntary.

The venue · 29-30 August
Ottoman, Marmaris Marina

Both program days take place at The Ottoman on the Marmaris marina — in the middle of the waterfront, among the yachts and the evening lights. The group gets a private room with its own door: its own air conditioning, a screen that connects straight to a laptop, and nobody else in it. We work undisturbed, and step out to the sea at the breaks.

It is where Marmaris gathers in the evening, and that is rather the point: two days of inner work sit better somewhere alive than on an anonymous conference floor.

Lunch on the program days is at each participant's own expense. We have lunch together, on the spot, without leaving the venue.

The third day · Monday 31 August
And on Monday,
the circle keeps working.

The program closes on Sunday evening; the group does not. On Monday those who are not flying straight home spend one more day together — a working day for the circle rather than an excursion. The aim is simple: strengthen the connections made over the weekend, look together at where the Global Mayors Academy and the International City Coaching Federation are going, and find where everyone's projects, talents and plans meet. Hosted by Lev Gordon, and included for participants.

Marmaris, Turkey: a warm sea at the meeting point of Europe and Asia

Marmaris, Turkey · 29-30 August

We gather in Turkey, at the historic meeting point of Europe and Asia. Convenient flights from many cities across the region and the wider world, visa-free or e-Visa entry for travellers from many countries, and a warm sea close by. A land where civilisations, trade routes, and worldviews have met and negotiated for millennia, a fitting ground for two days of work on how a leader understands and works with perspectives beyond their own.

Beyond the «Leadership Edge» program itself and the exchange with participants and faculty from around the world, you will be offered a unique program of rest in some of the most beautiful places in this part of the world.

Where we work. Both program days take place at The Ottoman on the Marmaris marina. The networking day on 31 August is held in a separate conference room nearby.

More about Marmaris

Take the chance to raise your level of effectiveness and strength, and also to rest, recharge your energy, and gather new experiences.

Marmaris sits where the mountains meet the Mediterranean, on Türkiye's beautiful southwest coast. Surrounded by pine forests, clear waters and a cultural history stretching back thousands of years, it has long been a place where people from different cultures and continents meet, a meeting point between Europe and Asia, between ancient wisdom and modern life, between reflection and renewal. That is why we chose to host this Leadership Edge program here.

Leadership is demanding work, and meaningful transformation rarely emerges while we remain immersed in the environments that constantly demand our attention. Sometimes the greatest gift is the space to step outside our familiar context, to think more clearly, connect more deeply, and rediscover what truly matters. Marmaris offers precisely that, and the setting itself becomes part of the learning.

Make a journey of it

You are coming to one of the most beautiful stretches of the Turkish coast, and you do not have to come alone. Many participants arrive a day or two early, or stay on afterwards, and bring a partner or their family with them.

The two training days are yours — focused, and demanding in the best way. Around them there is the sea, the bays and the long Mediterranean evenings. Friday on the water, the dinner that evening and the networking day on Monday are included in your place; family members are warmly welcome to join at £20 for the boat trip and £30 for dinner.

Arrive early, stay on afterwards, or simply build a short break around the program. Tick the box in the registration form and we will follow up with the details.
